the reason why hollywood puts out so much garbage is because it sells, not because of some mass conspiracy against originality.

I agree with you on this looking original and intriguing. Well said. But I do have to point out that Fight Club was a book before a movie...

What you just said there was very very true.

This movie shows the problem with Hollywood today. It's not based on a comic book, or video game, or old TV show...it's not a sequel, or a prequel, or a remake, or reboot. It's a fresh, original idea, and hence it gets no publicity...and then makes no money, and the powers that be decide that the public doesn't want original ideas. Production companies are scared of movies like this, Fight Club, or Idiocracy because if they succeed, then they'll actually have to make original movies, instead of rehashing the same garbage over and again...

Have to admit, this looks wonderful. I've grown weary of the superhero movie... it's just been done to death. Hollywood doesn't encourage new thoughts, new visions, it just will keep vomiting up the same stuff as long as people pay.
A breath of fresh air and maybe it's because it seems to play an angle akin to that of Fight Club, which was a delight.
